Mindfulness skills help to shift the brain from our automatic default modes of responding (fear, anxiety, negativity, worry) to more positive mind states. When we learn to live in the present moment, we do not ruminate about the past or worry about the future. There are many skills that help to regulate our fight-flight-freeze responses and replace them with higher level choices and behaviors. The skills that are taught are easy to learn, based on positive psychology and current neuroscience research. The skills you will learn will be based on your individual needs and preferences.

Mindfulness skills include (but are not limited to):

     *Gratitude practice

*Short meditation techniques (One Good Minute)

     *Self Compassion Training

     *Body Scan

     *Cognitive Reframing of Thoughts

*Learning to simply observe thoughts without getting caught up in them

     *Walking Meditation

     *Self Acceptance and Self Empowerment

*Working with fear, anxiety, anger, depression

     *Training in Forgiveness
